Growing up in the Amazon rainforest, Autumn makes one of the rarest of friendships: a lost jaguar cub named Hope, whom she finds again. When Autumn has to leave Hope due to a tragic event to move to the unknown New York City, she dreams for years of returning to the rainforest and her friend. At 14, having adjusted to city life, Autumn discovers that her home village is threatened by animal traffickers and decides to return to the Amazon to be with her beloved jaguar. Anja (Emily Bett Rickards) – Autumn’s endearingly clumsy biology teacher – tries in vain to dissuade her from this reckless plan. Together with Anja, Autumn sets off on a journey to find Hope and save her from those who want to destroy the rainforest and its wildlife.
