As a huge fan of the original, I can painfully say that the long-awaited sequel is a boring, disjointed mess. There are too many stories going on in this movie and not all of them are interesting enough to care about. It’s fun to see Michael Keaton reprise one of his most famous roles.
Then it’s too late
He was back in that striped suit as if he hadn’t missed a single moment. But the film only comes to life (or dies?) in the last third of the film. Then the pace picks up and the laughs start flying in rapid fire. The original Beetlejuice was perfect.
