Gary Oldman was originally rumored to be cast, but was replaced by Kevin Kline
Tale
It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a TV documentary journalist whose work has been built on exposing the transgressions of long-respected institutions.
In several episodes, Jonathon uses the same lens throughout the series, a medium telephoto
Such a lens would not be able to focus on close-up subjects like selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine.
The series is too long, too stretched out
I have never read the book, so I am rating the series as a standalone.
Clearly setting up a “twist” The constant, detailed sex scenes are just horrifying
It was intriguing and mysterious for the first few episodes, but by episode five, I was like, “Oh my god, just end it.” Catherine’s silence/constant interruptions while trying to tell her side of the story just feels like a plot device to move the story along.
Sex scenes don’t bother me, but if I wanted to watch “detailed” sex scenes that last ten minutes, my first choice would not be Apple TV+
Literally porn.
