Tale
A group of neighbors stranded on a rural Georgia farm must put aside their differences and band together to face a mysterious and deadly threat. Adapted from Robert McCammon’s Stinger (1988). Link to Korman Productions’ Deep Dive TV podcast: A Cup of Tea on the Peacock Deep Dive: S1 E1/2 “Think Bubbles”/”My Little Lighthouse”; (2024). By the end of the second episode, I wasn’t sure about the show. No spoilers, but the sound effects alone were so visceral that I was curious to see what else was coming! The visual effects were pretty grotesque too! The horror reminds me of the fun practical effects of 80s and 90s horror, but mixed with CGI. By the end of the second season, the show finds itself. I think it’s totally fine for the showrunners to take their time and work on the story – we used to spend a lot more time on shows when 24 episodes was the norm. I’ll be curious to see where the show goes from here. Interesting new show 🙂
