Tale
Follows a world of even deeper intrigue and subterfuge, with characters fighting their own battles as they grapple with existential threats to the nation and the world way a Case Officer turns out an Agent ( or Informer or Confidential Informant), is through the use of the acronym MICE, which stands for: MoneyIdeologyCompromise (aka Blackmail)Ego. Blake, the acronym "OBE" is incorrectly explained as "Occupied By Events". In US Government agencies, including those in the Intelligence Community and the Department Of Defense, the correct/official explanation of the acronym "OBE" is "Overcome By Events"..
The opening credits present the characters and scenes from the series interspersed with mirror panes
The former Director of Counterintelligence at the CIA, James Jesus Angleton, also known as the "poet-spy", described the Intelligence game as the "Wilderness of Mirrors" Eliot called Gerontion (The title is Greek for "little old man," and the poem is an interior monologue relating the opinions and impressions of an elderly man, which describes Europe after World War I through the eyes of a man who has lived most of his life in the 19th century). In the world of Intelligence, in the the search for truth, it is difficult to tell the difference between reality and a reflection thereof, an illusion if you will, as if one were in a "Hall of Mirrors".. Featured in The Graham Norton Show: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024).
The two of them are incredibly underrated actors
For anyone who loves games of cat and mouse involved in the spy world then The Agency is for you. It's not the best spy series that I've seen but it's definitely worth watching. Michael Fassbender is perfect for roles like this, as is Jeffery Wright.
The show might start off slow for some but stay with it because it does pick up
Add in Richard Gere and Katherine Waterston and you have one of the most talented casts on TV. It just takes its time as it builds its world and its characters but if you don't have the patience for slow burn, well told shows then this isn't for you. The Agency does a great job of showing the cost and the sacrifices it takes to be in this line of work.
